Eyes on the Prize

This canvas 36 inches by 96 inches is moving slowly along.  I have been distracted with summer coming and the need to have a finished Artist Statement to send along with images of my painting.  It is time to push my work out more to museums and possible galleries hoping to find a way in.  It is not going to be easy.  Finding the way to state what I do in words is difficult.  Maybe, it is like any creative person it turns out to be easier to just do it and not worry about explaining or understanding the whys.

Eyes on the prize

I am posting two images of this artwork call Eyes for short.  The earlier session shows how much ideas involve as you begin the search to find the comfort in what is being depicted.

I love art and I love music…..if putting these two art forms together is silly and flawed, or just plain brilliant, I am far from confident that either way is correct.  I do know that knowing the answer, would not change the passion, and the driven need to continue this journey one canvas at a time.  You never known what the next song  put down in paint will be unless I do it.

AT LAST posted to the website

The Canon is back so I brought up the lighting and my large Bogen tripod I used long ago to photograph log homes, and photograph it as it hung in my living room. My Daughter thought it would look good in a Mexican restaurant, and  my wife commented last week that for the first time she could picture this painting hanging in a museum.  So, things are looking up.  I have notice that my views are averaging about 1 to 2 a day, which is pushing me to try to post more news more often.  Like a said things are looking up.
